Juvenile CourtLas Vegas Juvenile Delinquency AttorneyWe give children a second chanceThe vast majority of children who commit juvenile crimes do not commit crimes as they mature. At Albright, Stoddard, Warnick & Albright, we recognize that children are not adults, and should not be punished as adults. If your child faces a juvenile delinquency charge, there is reason for hope. I, Richard W. Tannery, can work with you to give your child a second chance. Call Albright Stoddard to find out more. Juvenile CourtIn Las Vegas, juvenile court handles two different types of cases. Juvenile Criminal CasesMinors who commit crimes usually end up in juvenile court. I handle every type of juvenile case from disorderly conduct to homicide. Even if they are adjudicated as delinquent, they can still turn their life around. Once they end up in juvenile court, however, I do everything I can to make sure that they stay in the juvenile system. If a minor goes through a juvenile certification, and the court certifies him or her as an adult, he or she gets tried as one. Unlike an adult's conviction, a juvenile's adjudication is always sealed, and NOT a matter of public record. Therefore, if the minor does not commit any other crimes, he or she is not treated like a convicted felon. An adult conviction carries all the normal consequences, including possible jail time and an open criminal record. Juvenile non-criminal casesAllegations of child abuse and neglect also wind up in juvenile court. There, I can assist the child in removing himself from an abusive household. I can also work with the court to make sure that, if a child is abused--sexually or otherwise--that the person responsible never comes near him again.
